Digital Health Passport: Why You Should Always Have It With You – And How Our Medical Profile Works

Picture a situation nobody wants to find themselves in: an accident, a sudden collapse, a seizure. Paramedics arrive – and know nothing. Your name. What you're allergic to. What medication you take. Who to call. Your wallet, which might at least have an ID card in it, could be trapped, thrown clear, or simply out of reach.

This is the moment when every second counts. And it's exactly why we created the Medical Profile: a digital health passport that's always with you, even when you can't speak.

What is the Medical Profile?

The Medical Profile is a digital health record containing your key medical information – blood type, allergies, current medication, chronic conditions, emergency contacts, and much more. Unlike a paper card in your wallet, it's always up to date, accessible even without an internet connection, and works anywhere in the world.

We link your Medical Profile directly to physical BodyID carriers – bracelets, smartwatch tags, army "dog" tags, and other products you carry with you every day. Whether you're travelling in Italy, Spain, or Germany, a first responder or any other rescuer can access your information just as easily as they would in your home country.

How does the Medical Profile work?

The principle is simple. You register at medicalprofile.eu, fill in your details, and your profile is ready. From there, you gradually upload all the important information and documents – and then you're set. There are three ways to access it:

QR code – scanning the code on your BodyID carrier takes a first responder straight to your profile, instantly, with no app required.

PIN code – the code engraved on the product allows access via any web browser on any device.

Offline access via SMS – even without an internet connection, the profile can be retrieved by sending an SMS to our system number. The ideal backup for situations where internet access isn't available.

What happens in an emergency?

If a paramedic or bystander opens your Medical Profile in a crisis, they don't just see all your key health information – they can also share your current location with your nominated emergency contacts directly from the profile, or leave a callback number for them to reach you.

Your family or partner will find out about the situation in near real time, even if you're unable to make the call yourself.

Who is the Medical Profile for?

Short answer: everyone. But there are groups for whom this service is particularly important:

  • People with chronic conditions – diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease, medication allergies
  • Seniors – where fast access to information can be decisive
  • Children – parents set up the profile, first responders know what they need to know
  • Athletes and travellers – active people away from home and out of reach of loved ones
  • Motorcyclists – a wallet with ID and other vital information isn't always within reach. A wristband with a Medical Profile always is.
  • Anyone who doesn't want to leave things to chance

Medical Profile + BodyID wristband

The Medical Profile is linked to a physical carrier you always have on you – most commonly a wristband. This means a paramedic or rescuer can access your data quickly, right there on the scene.

The main solution is the BodyID wristband range, available in various styles – silicone, fabric, or hand-braided paracord. We also offer smartwatch tags, pet tags, and children's versions. Every product can be engraved with the QR code and PIN that lead directly to your Medical Profile.

How to start?

  • Register for free at medicalprofile.eu
  • Fill in your profile – start with the basics and add more over time
  • Choose your BodyID wristband at bodyid.com/en and link it to your profile

*You can update your profile at any time. Changed your medication? New diagnosis? Just log in and edit. The QR code on your carrier stays the same – the information behind it is always current.

Conclusion

A digital health passport isn't just for people who are ill or elderly. It's a simple tool that, in a critical moment, can make the difference between you or someone you love getting the help they need.

Our Medical Profile combines modern technology with the practicality of a physical product. Registration is free, takes just a few minutes, and you can keep your profile updated as your situation changes.
